A cake base can be baked quickly and easily, instead of buying a finished product in plastic packaging. All you need is a handful of ingredients that you probably already have at home.
The working time to bake the “Blitzboden” yourself is limited to a few minutes and a little waiting time. The homemade cake base also has the advantage that you can enjoy a delicious fruit cake without any questionable additives.
Recipe for quick cake base
The classic dough base with a special baking pan with a grooved edge is particularly pretty. However, the base can just as easily be prepared in a normal springform pan – depending on the size of the form, it is advisable to adjust the amount of dough as required.

- Grease the baking pan with a little oil or baking agent.
- Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy and then stir in the oil.
- Mix the flour and baking powder, add to the egg-sugar-oil mixture and stir well.
- Pour the finished dough into the prepared baking pan and bake in the preheated oven at 175 ° C (top / bottom heat) for about 20 minutes. Make a stick test before removing.
- Allow the finished cake base to cool, remove it from the mold and topping as desired.
